CERTIFICATE OF MERIT HONORS RECITAL

For qualifying students only

The Certificate of Merit Honors Recital features those students who completed their Certificate of Merit Evaluations with special distinction and were selected as such by their individual evaluators.

The requirements set by our branch are as follows:

Keyboard:                   Level one and above

Strings and Winds:   Level three and above

Technique:                 Good or Excellent

Sight Reading:           Good or Excellent

Performance:             A score of 5- and above

Theory:                       80% or above

All repertoire must be memorized

The Honors Recital provides opportunities for students :

• to perform one piece as selected by their evaluator for excellence
• to receive recognition for an outstanding theory score
• to receive recognition for the honor to be invited to perform at the annual MTAC convention
• to attend the Senior Medallion presentations to graduating students.

Performance is optional, but students must attend to receive recognition.
